Get to Know Mrs. Jennings
Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been teaching for 33 years, all of them at White Oak ISD. I taught for 17 years at the middle school and I am starting my 17th year at the high school. I grew up in Spring Hill and graduated from there. I went to Kilgore College for two years, where I was head twirler, and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree. I went on the Stephen F. Austin State University, where I double majored in English and Mathematics. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981 and continued on to study for my master’s degree while I began my teaching career. I majored in Mid-Management while receiving my Master of Education degree, and continued to receive my Principal and Supervisor Certificates from TEA. I am married to my husband Chris and have two great children. Brenna is a senior at WOHS and Blake is a junior at Texas Christian University. I currently teach AP Calculus, Pre-AP Precalculus, and Pre-AP Algebra 2. I am the sponsor for Model United Nations, National Honor Society, and Scholastic Day. I am also currently serving as Band Booster President and the Twirler / Flag Instructor. I love teaching and could not imagine myself in any other career. It is a privilege to have a role in shaping a student’s future and I am so proud to be a part of my students’ lives. I was honored to have been chosen by the University of Texas Exes as 2011 Outstanding Teacher of the Year, and last year I was selected as the KTYL Teacher of the Week.
